Robbed

Poem for today

Stolen from you
my countrymen
your country
and
is sold over
for handful of silver.
You are robbed
plundered
and forced to live in penury.
Your house ransacked
pockets picked
and all the treasures ripped
the cloak blown over
in shreds
o, my countryman
they want you to live
enslaved.
Will you too?
to whom this did belong
and who belong to it
in question is
not the nationality
but the loyalty
the nationalism
the sacrifices
the fight to the tooth and nail
all slogans
all verbose
sans sanity.
Fools?
who they are?
you or me?
